Sacred Valley Connection to Machu Picchu 2 Days

Day 1: Cusco – Moray – Maras Salt Mines – Ollantaytambo – Aguas Calientes

In the morning, we pick you up from your hotel to start the trip; we head by bus to Chinchero; famous for its church with mural paintings and its traditional market for its handmade textiles.

Moray, the famous “greenhouse” of Inka time, where you will learn how the Incas were able to acclimatize their agricultural products in different climates.

We continue to Maras, where we will see ancient agricultural roads to the village on our way to Las Salineras, the salt mines that have existed since the Inka civilization. There are more than 3 thousand salt ponds. You will get breathtaking panoramas of the mountains, spectacular views of the salt mines.

After visiting the salt mines, and a spectacular descent into the Sacred Valley we will have a delicious lunch and continue to the archaeological site of Ollantaytambo, one of the most preserved Inka villages. You will learn about this incredible place and then board the train to Aguas Calientes. In Aguas Calientes you will be picked up at the train station and accommodated at the hotel. In the evening you will have a delicious dinner and a briefing for the next day.

Day 2 : Machu Picchu – Aguas Calientes – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

Early in the morning, you will have breakfast at the hotel, then you will take the bus from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu, 30 minutes. approx.

Arriving at Machu Picchu, you will visit the archaeological site for about 2 hours with our guide. He will explain you about the history, construction and all important information about Machu Picchu.

After the guided tour. You will have more time to be in the Citadel, to explore and take pictures. And if you book to climb Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain. Each has a different beautiful view of Machu Picchu.

When you feel your visit was enough you will go down by bus to Aguas Calientes. You can have a meal and enjoy the thermal baths.

Afterwards you will take the train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo and from Ollantaytambo you will go by bus to Cusco.
