With this option, you will enjoy a night in the town of Aguas Calientes and dine at the best restaurant in town’ before spending a night in a hotel.

DAY 01:

  • 8:20 AM Hike to Km 104 – Wiñayhuayna

  • 2:00 PM. Hike to Machu Picchu
  • 4:30 PM Descent by bus to Aguas Calientes 25 min.
  • 6:30 PM Dinner and Overnight.

DAY 02:

  • 5:00 AM Breakfast.
  • 5:30 AM Bus ride up to Machu Picchu 25 min. approx.
  • 6:00 AM Sunrise at Machu Picchu.
  • 7:00 AM Guided tour in Machu Picchu 2 hrs. approx.
  • Free time to visit on your own.
  • 1:30 PM Return to Aguas Calientes.
  • 4:12 PM Return to Ollantaytambo by train.
  • 5:50 PM Transfer by car, Ollantaytambo – Cusco.
  • 8:00 PM Arrival in Cusco and transfer to the hotel.

Recommendations for the Traditional Inca Trail 2 days and 1 night:

Wear comfortable shoes of recommendation trekking shoes.
Bring personal medicines and original passport.

DAY 1: CUSCO – WIÑAYWAYNA – MACHUPICCHU

5:00 AM we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco, to transfer you to the train station in Ollantaytambo for 1 hour and 30 minutes approximately, during the trip you will be able to observe the Sacred Valley of the Incas, farmland, majestic snow-capped mountains; in Ollantaymtambo we will board the train that will take you to km. 104 the trip is approximately 1 hour.

It is here at Km 104 (2,200 m / 7,217 ft) where we will begin the hike, we will pass by the bridge that is over the Urubamba River or Willkamayuc that translated from Quechua means Sacred River, which was very important for them. When you arrive at the check point you have to show the identification documents either Passport or Alien Card or National Identity Card. At 15 minutes walk is the archaeological center of Chachabamba and Choquesuysuy that are hidden in the semi-tropical forest, after your visit we will begin the walk through steps upwards to reach the next place on the way we will observe the sacred valley, waterfalls and different types of orchids of the semi-tropical forest, After 3 hours of walking we will arrive to Wiñaywayna (2,650 m / 8,694 ft) shows a perfect example of what was agriculture in the time of the Incas, since along its slopes lie a large number of circular terraces, where the Incas cultivated different agricultural products. The name Wiñaywayna comes from a beautiful orchid that abounds in the area and has the meaning in Spanish “Eternally young” and has more than 20 buildings, one of them the Temple of the Rainbow also called Temple of Fertility, the visit will be 1 hour on average, then we will enjoy the box lunch to replenish energy and continue until you reach the control of Wiñaywayna.

In this second part of the tour we will walk for 2 hours through an Andean plane, stone stairs and tambos (“resting places”) to reach the Inti Punku – Sun Gate (2,720 m / 8,923 ft) that in Inca times functioned as an entrance control to the Citadel of Machu Picchu; From here you have an impressive panoramic view of Machu Picchu and the entire valley that surrounds it, then descend for about 30 minutes to the wonder of the world Machu Picchu (2,490 m / 8,169 ft) and finally take the bus to Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu Pueblo (2,160 m / 7,086 ft) the trip takes 25 minutes, here we will spend the night in a very comfortable hotel. If you are not too tired, you have the option to visit the thermal baths that are 10 minutes away from the village, the cost is 10 soles. For those who like to dance or have a drink in a bar, we inform you that Aguas Calientes has a wide variety of bars and restaurants, including an ATM, in case you want to withdraw money from the bank. Here we will also have a delicious a la carte dinner in a very cozy restaurant in this town.

DAY 2: AGUAS CALIENTES – MACHUPICCHU – CUSCO

This day we will wake up very early and after breakfast we will board the first bus 5:30 AM, we will make a 30 minute trip arriving at the citadel of Machu Picchu at 6:00 AM and be able to appreciate the majestic sunrise. We will have a guided tour of 2 hours and 30 minutes to know the most important places of Machu Picchu, you can visit the most impressive places like the Royal Mausoleum, the temple of the 3 windows, the main temple, the sacred Plaza, the famous Intihuatana where the wise Incas tied the sun in the winter solstice in June, stairs, squares, fountains, etc.. After the tour you will have 04 hours more free time to visit Machu Picchu on your own.

At the appropriate time we will leave Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes town, we will hike for about 1 hour by an original Inca trail and appreciate the flora and fauna of the sanctuary of Machu Picchu.

In the afternoon 4:12 PM we will board the train back to Ollantaytambo, 1 hour and 45 minutes trip, from here we will take the car back to Cusco, the next arrival time to Cusco will be 8:00 PM, then we will leave you in your respective hotels.
